work is cool.
Am slowly getting back on track with running, I basically stopped for two weeks whilst Linda visited and to make it worse, we ate heaps of chocolate and lollies.
Also, I am acting in someone elses position at the moment, whilst they are on leave and compared to my last position, its a fair bit easier and you sit in front of a computer a whole lot more. Because of the sitting factor, I gained several kilos during the weeks I didn't exercise, in my normal job, if I didn't exercise for a couple of weeks, no change.
Hence, I have come out of the barriers, galloping, I now do my best to jog in the morning and the afternoon. Problem, I am too buggered to make myself dinner and eat frozen marshmallows, drink water and go to bed.
Phil, I shall endeavour to get some stuff up here, there won't be many pictures, as I need to get permission to borrow my boyfriends camera (my camera is a manual pentax, with the big chunky lense, but it takes awesome scenery photos, thats what I used on the gold mine I worked at, if only I had enough money to put those photos on disc, so I could load them onto my computer)

definitions:
Australia, we go to university and everyone refers to it as 'uni'
You guys go to college and refer to it as college.
Which is weird to us, because here, college is a specialised school for mature age students needing qualifications to get into uni. Also the other colleges we have are beauty colleges, mechanics colleges etc.

I am pretty happy right now, yesterday I bought the solid gold hits of the Beastie Boys. It has a cd and a dvd featuring the clips to the songs on the cd. I really enjoy watching and listening to these guys, they are such a blast, I have only been to two concerts, greatly due to the fact they have only visited Australia twice. These guys are soo funny, I would love to be a roadie for them.
Its time to get Ill, Beasties.

I am tired and hungry, work is ok. I wish I possessed a sharper initiative to get things, anythings, not just work things, but studies things and domestic things completed. Am hungry, I'm really starting to get annoyed at boyfriend, as he has floorball every thursday, and still doesn't let me know what his eating arrangements are, so I starve waiting to hear from him and get really grumpy about it.
Grumble, grumble and to top it off, I am annoyed at myself for being such a grumpy bum.

Am tired this morning as I have been up late, watching the 4th Aliens movie, 'Alien Resurrection'. It is all very good, this one I have seen before, it was the only Alien film I actually got to see at the cinemas all the rest came out when I was between the ages of 0 and 16. So when I was 19 and I heard of the fourth one, I was first in que. I just really wanted to get the cinematic experience, and it was worth every penny. I am watching the whole series again, as a friend purchased the special quadrilogy box set and he over heard me saying how its one of my favourite films and lent it to me. Bob, hasn't seen the 1st, 3rd or 4th so he got a kick out of it and a fright, mind you. I guess now, all thats left is Aliens versus Predator, I have mixed feelings about this, I had played the pc game about 5 years ago and thought it was cool. I will probably watch the film, as my curiosity will get the better of me. It will knowingly, not match the film set, as Ripley is such an integral character, still I like watching films as its always intriguing to see how each film maker interprets and creates these stories. It has taken me 4 months to watch the whole box set, as I get quite disturbed from some of the scenes and it takes me all my strength to sit down and watch each film.
I think, personally, I fear these movies, because my primal instincts are telling me to RUN, as this creature is a new threat to my species.
In the fourth film, the puppetry of the alien is exceptional, only the director has made a stumble of error in making the alien feel like a t-rex, rather than this slick extraordinary superior species that its first intended to look like.

This is Hua and Belinda scoffing all the squid tentacles before I could get some. There is actually about 9 of us at the table, but I didn't manage to get a good group photo. It was yummy and messy and I looooooooooove dim sum. Hua is Chinese, she could understand the menu, I normally go there with Bob and when the trolley comes around, I just point at which pots I want.
Most of the patrons are asian, only us and one other table, had caucasian people. So if any of you guys are in Oz, I will definately take you to a traditional dim sum, as its yummy and heaps cheaper with a large group. Also its the best way to learn how to use chop sticks.

me and Linda, we have been best buddies for about a decade now. She is the nursing friend who luckily had the day off, when the bombs went off in London, her flat mate though (another nurse) had just got off the train and was making her way down the road when she witnessed the double decker bus explode. Linda is already missing sunny Perth and our lolly and culinary variety. I miss her heaps already.
its been a rather exhausting week, a very teary farewell to Linda on tuesday night as she heads back to London for another stint of nursing (she looks after kids with cancer). Then I worked my last night of night fill on wednesday night and said goodbye to all my friends in the night filling team, so more tears flowed.
I am tired today, my day job has been pretty busy, with meetings and the computer system crashing making matters worse.
The weather is a beautiful 31 degrees C, and my garden is blooming quite nicely. My loungeroom is still covered in streamers and balloons from last saturdays bbq ( I had a bbq get together for Linda and all our friends) it was a lovely day and the spa got used alot. So when my energy levels increase I shall start working my way through my messy house.
Phil, I have re-enrolled for studies, next year and one of my units is math 103 and its heavily based on year 12 applicable math. I will do my best and keep the questions to a minimum, as I know you are entering your most trying years of university. Hang in there Phil and keep fighting to the very last.

Hello everyone. Life as usual, working and catching up with Linda. Unfortunately my exercise has hit a brick wall, because I have been spending every spare moment I have, catching up with Linda. Its good that Australia is the nearest neighbouring country of asia, because we get such a huge offering of various asian restaurants. Since Linda's been in London, she's been telling me there is stuff all multicultural food, as a matter of fact the closest thing to spicy or asian, was a crappy fast food joint called curry in a hurry. So all week she has been gutsing out on asian, yesterday I got roped into leaving work early and we went to a Japanese restaurant. Its funny, you think living in Australia, that you have little taste of the world, it turns out that because we have heaps of asian and european and middle eastern occupants we actually have more variety in one place, than the world put together. I thought it was normal to have a shit load of multicultural restaurants, I love it, I go to dimsum most sundays and eat quite a bit of Japanese, I have two favourite Italian restaurants, and go to a regular jaunt called wong hawkers on saturdays which cooks alot of singaporean, malaysian culinary. I even love eating fried squid tentacles, I could go on for a long time. The city of Perth itself actually has the largest ratio of restaurants, per capita than the rest of Australia and the country has a ratio of 1 pub to every two people, makes no sense, the pubs always packed when I go.
I just find it funny, I always thought that europe had everything, and my friend has come back giving me a list of things I have to mail to her so she has something yummy to eat. Apparently we have heaps of different chocolate varieties and heaps more different lolly varieties. It makes me laugh, lesson to be learned 'assumption is the mother of all f**k ups', what I also don't understand, is England loves to heap shit on Australia, yet they migrate here in the droves, love the weather and now their bloody t.v. programs are invading our free to air t.v., I can not believe it, its really starting to get under my skin.
When I worked on the mines, there was alot of british expats and all they could do was whinge about Australia and yet they didn't want to live anywhere else. WTF!
Alright, I had better get this place ship shape, as its a dump and the bbq is tomorrow. eeeeeeek.
Okay, maybe some of us are messy, but theres no need to bag us out, the reason we are messy is because we're busy running around eating and enjoying the weather, not sitting around whinging about it.
in memory of those who died or fought in a war.

My best friend flew in from London on friday, and we have been catching up when possible for the last couple of days. Its soo good to see her again, I havn't been able to make any aquaintances that close whilst I've known her. But unfortunately she flys away again in a week, back to London to keep nursing, and as always I shall miss her dearly and wish I could be there with her. Especially England, the horse riding over there would be good fun, ohw how I wish I could be back riding again.
Phil, I hope your ok, I know you've told me your alive, I'm just a little concerned. If you ever need a change of scenery and you happen to be in Australia, your always welcome to pitch up camp at my place. I will be waiting the 230 days to read your next blog, or I will come over there and force you to type something.

I wasn't very well yesterday, woke up with a bad headache and feeling extremely tired. Carried my arse to work and told everyone I was going straight home. All I did for the rest of the day was sleep, I finally gave into headache pills once my stomach settled down. Today I felt better, but still groggy. Went for a gentle jog this afternoon and am cooking tea, at the moment.
For those of you who don't know, the Melbourn Cup is a world recognised race, with horses coming from all over the globe to race, only about 3 of the horses are from Australia, this race is labelled the race that stops a nation. You will be hard pressed to find anyone not watching or listening to the 3 minute race call, even Bono from U2 watched it from Ireland, as does the queen and most royals, the prime minister and even a heap of Americans. Each time you watch it you get more and more caught up in the atmosphere of the pounding hooves of such magnificent creatures.
This is a picture of my sisters foal, my sister put her horse into foal, unfortunately the mother died, during the birthing. But this little sweetheart has managed to survive the precious early weeks of its life and is almost one year old. I hope her mother rests in peace. Her name is Rosie.

Makybe Diva, a truly precious horse, may you live in everyones hearts forever.
Today at 12pm (Perth, Western Australian time) Makybe Diva, took out her third consecutive Melbourne Cup win, the only horse in history to win 3 cups and the only horse to do it with an extra 58 kilograms on her back, and she is a mare, what a graceful girl she is. Each cup win, is worth $3 million, so she now has $9 million in the kitty on top of all her other wins over the years, totalling approximately $29, 465, 000. I can honestly say, there wasn't a dry seat in the house in the whole of Australia, I even cried. She is such a beautiful horse. Long live the Queen Makybe Diva.
