Michelle's Things

work is cool.
Am slowly getting back on track with running, I basically stopped for two weeks whilst Linda visited and to make it worse, we ate heaps of chocolate and lollies.
Also, I am acting in someone elses position at the moment, whilst they are on leave and compared to my last position, its a fair bit easier and you sit in front of a computer a whole lot more. Because of the sitting factor, I gained several kilos during the weeks I didn't exercise, in my normal job, if I didn't exercise for a couple of weeks, no change.
Hence, I have come out of the barriers, galloping, I now do my best to jog in the morning and the afternoon. Problem, I am too buggered to make myself dinner and eat frozen marshmallows, drink water and go to bed.
Phil, I shall endeavour to get some stuff up here, there won't be many pictures, as I need to get permission to borrow my boyfriends camera (my camera is a manual pentax, with the big chunky lense, but it takes awesome scenery photos, thats what I used on the gold mine I worked at, if only I had enough money to put those photos on disc, so I could load them onto my computer)

Australia, we go to university and everyone refers to it as 'uni'
You guys go to college and refer to it as college.
Which is weird to us, because here, college is a specialised school for mature age students needing qualifications to get into uni. Also the other colleges we have are beauty colleges, mechanics colleges etc.

We go by universities over here. College, is more of a trade school, or like you guys, for people who needs stuff to get into uni. Actually, we also have adult high schools, which will help you get into uni too.

It's the americains who refer to uni's as college. Why, I have no idea, but it always seemed strange. On tv they're always saying "You want to get into a good college...Janet." I always think what's wrong with Janet? She seems smart why can't she go to uni?...ohhh, that IS uni...you guys are just calling it by the wrong flippin' name!

It is funny when they say President Bush went to such-and-such a college, I'm thinking...OMG they're doomed! Haha, uni or not they are still doomed.

Good grief! Sorry I wrote so much! Good luck with the running!

Actually thats good feed back, because, I don't know much about Canada.
I am glad to hear you guys attend university and not college. Because the whole time I was going through high school watching American soaps, I too couldn't understand why smart kids were aiming so low and wanting to go to college instead of uni.
