morning everyone, I just woke to hear a gunman tried shooting students in a College in Montreal. hope you guys are ok and I am sorry to hear the bad news.
I met four Canadians on my trip through Africa, one was a maths teacher, another a statistics graduate, but I can't remember what the other two did, I think one worked as an admin officer for the government, but I can't remember what Leah did.
The stats Guy, gave me a different perspective on filling in surveys, I was filling one in and didn't want to do it, Stats guy said he wasn't going to fill it in and he has never done a census either, because of the ease of manipulation of information. Ironically when Bob and I got back to Perth, we had missed census night by two days, I read the form anyway and it pissed me off. I rang up the census hotline and told them that they are full of shit. Why the hell do they need to know what religion I follow or what I earn and how I earn it. They tried telling me it was because they need to know where to spend money, eg put up shops, schools etc. I told her she was full of shit, because I have lost several friends on bad country roads over the last decade and the government still has not fixed the roads. She went quiet, I apologised but told her I still think its a bunch of crap to do a census, that they only need to peep in your house and do a head count and that be it. I also said I will make sure I am not in the country whenever a census comes around because I don't think its any of their business what I earn.
I apologise for venting my feelings on these issues.
