Toronto

Hello.
I was going through my math chapters and down the columns it has the occassional vignette, in todays chapter I discovered that "The CN Tower in Toronto is currently the tallest freestanding building in the world" though it doesn't tell me how tall it actually is.
It looks pretty tall in the photograph.
So have any of you guys been to this tower, is it prone to being blown over in a strong wind storm. I give you guys the hot tip, it wouldn't be looking too pretty if it was over here during these cyclones we've been having.
Why do they build these huge structures.
Mind you it is amazing that it stays upright, it looks kind of skinny.

I promise to take you there when you come over to Canada, as long as you promise to help me smuggle a Koala bear back home when I come to Perth.

    (It is 533 m)

Sorry to here about the cyclones I hope you aren't in any danger. I was reading about them over here and they sound pretty bad.

As for the CN tower I've been up it once before. A little scary. They tell you not to sneeze in the elevater or your brains explode..or something...and they have all these grates up at the top so people don't throw things off the building. They also have this glass floor you can stand on and look down (scary as hell!..well for a little kid at least)

Phil, hmm the koala could be tricky.
The cyclones are interesting, because over here we know what regions are regular cyclone zones. We build cyclone proof housing, evacuate and all sorts of stuff. For some weird reason in America, they don't bother with this, they even managed to build in an area that lies below sea level without proper drainage??? hence why so many suffered from Katrina.
Still we can't cyclone proof the primary industries so it really pounded the hell out of our major exporting produce.
Glad the CN tower has an elevator, but is there steps for the fit fanaticist. By the way what does CN mean?
