Cyclone Larry

Australia, was hit by a devastating cyclone on March 20th. This one I couldn't believe what it had done. It flattened all our banana trees (these trees are huge and strong, it would take immense force to snap them like this) trees snapped at the base and pushed flat to the ground, our rainforest was obliterated, not a single house, apartment block was not ripped up, big rig trucks swept onto their sides. It was honestly the most incredible cyclone ever???

It also destroyed our cane sugar plantations, avacados, pineapples, corn crops, destroyed one town and much of a city. Weirder still it gained strength when it hit land, it went from category four to category five and shredded across the north queensland peninsula at 290 kilometres per hour. If you've ever seen the movie 'Signs' where the corn crops are flattened, imagine that but trees aswell, perfectly snapped and levelled vegetation, the force in those winds must have been incredibly strong.

The whole country is astonished at this event, and the fact no one was killed, a big applause to the emergency crews who mustered every single soul to emergency shelters before the cyclone crossed the coast. They saved many lives doing so.
